Blog Roll

As America has Won, I Believe My Time at Townhall has Come to a Close

It's upsetting to me to see Roland Straten lose in NJ's 8th Congressional District election to one of the most arrogant politicians you will ever meet, but life goes on. At least for the most part, conservatives are taking back this country. Conservatives and Republicans have won big yesterday and that is very good for our future. It is not the tsunami that many predicted including myself, but it is a good majority at least in the House. I don't know what happened in the Senate.

With the election passing and me being physically and emotionally drained, I believe my time at Townhall has come to a close. I started blogging over two + years ago because I felt depressed and wanted to inform people of the dangers of progressivism/liberalism and I believe I did it successfully. During the summer months I stopped that blog because I was just too tired and had many other obligations. In October, I started a new blog, this blog, because I want to inform everybody about the upcoming election and my candidate Roland Straten, and with the election now over, I believe I will walk off into the sunset. I don't know if it is permanent, but it will be for sure for a while. Thank you to all I have spoken to and all those who have read my blog. We still have a long way to take our country back and the fight continues today and goes through 2012 and beyond. Thank you to all.

Vote Roland Straten in Today's NJ's 8th Congressional District Election

Those living in NJ's 8th Congressional District go out and vote for Roland Straten and help take this country back. We must retire Rep. Bill Pascrell. My predictions for today are that Republicans will gain more than 70 seats in the House and 9 seats in the Senate.

Democrats Outspent Republicans by $25 Million on House Races

Via the NY Times:

Despite a deluge of campaign spending over the last few months by Republican-leaning outside groups, Democratic candidates and their allies have outspent Republicans over all on television advertising in House races, according to data provided by Kantar Media’s Campaign Media Analysis Group, which tracks political advertising. In Senate races, however, Republicans outspent Democrats.

The most recent numbers available, through Friday, showed that Democratic candidates and their allies spent $142 million on television advertising across all House races in the general election, compared with $119 million by Republican candidates and their backers. In the Senate, Republican candidates and their allies outspent Democrats, $159 million to $120 million.

The Democratic advantage on television spending in House races was something of a revelation, given all the attention that has been garnered this year by the staggering expenditures by Republican-oriented independent groups after a Supreme Court ruling in January that lifted restrictions on corporate political spending.

Expect a Super Tsunami Tomorrow

Based on Gallup's final generic ballot poll, they show that Republicans have a 15 point lead over Democrats among likely voters. They have this to say on the results:

Gallup's historical model suggests that a party needs at least a two-point advantage in the national House vote to win a majority of the 435 seats. The Republicans' current likely voter margin suggests that this scenario is highly probable, making the question of interest this election not whether the GOP will win the majority, but by how much. Taking Gallup's final survey's margin of error into account, the historical model predicts that the Republicans could gain anywhere from 60 seats on up, with gains well beyond that possible.

It should be noted, however, that this year's 15-point gap in favor of the Republican candidates among likely voters is unprecedented in Gallup polling and could result in the largest Republican margin in House voting in several generations. This means that seat projections have moved into uncharted territory, in which past relationships between the national two-party vote and the number of seats won may not be maintained.

Mitt Romney Endorses Roland Straten

MITT ROMNEY ENDORSES ROLAND STRATEN FOR CONGRESS

MONTCLAIR – Former Presidential candidate and Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney has announced his endorsement of Roland Straten, Republican candidate for Congress from the 8th Congressional District.

Straten, an engineer and Paterson businessman for over 40 years, believes in “smaller, smarter government.”  For business, that means a climate of lower taxes and fewer regulations so that businesses can succeed.  “Successful businesses make profits.  Profits are what enable businesses to expand.  Expansion means that jobs are created.  When businesses can succeed, everyone can succeed,” Straten said.

“Roland understands that America’s recovery from this prolonged recession depends on an economic environment that encourages businesses to grow and employers to hire,” Romney said.  “Government must foster these conditions, not impose regulatory and tax barriers and uncertainties that only discourage growth and make job creation impossible.”

Before entering politics, Romney enjoyed a successful career helping businesses grow and improve their operations.  He came to national attention for his success in turning around the financially troubled 2002 Winter Olympics.  Romney is the founder of Bain Capital, one of the nation’s most successful venture capital and investment companies.

“I’m very pleased that Mitt Romney has endorsed my candidacy,” Straten said.  “The people of the 8th District know that the Pascrell-Obama-Pelosi fiscal policies have failed miserably.  I will work with the new Congress to turn things around and get our economy growing again.”

Rudy Giuliani Endorses Roland Straten

GIULIANI ENDORSES STRATEN

Local businessman garners coveted endorsement from America's Mayor

PATERSON, NJ - Campaign headquarters for Roland Straten, Republican candidate for New Jersey's

8th Congressional district, today announced the endorsement of former New York City Mayor, Rudy Giuliani. The Straten campaign calls the public support of the widely respected political icon a “shot in the arm” to a campaign that has been energized in recent weeks.

“We're thrilled with the endorsement from America’s Mayor, especially at this pivotal time in the race,” said Campaign Manager, Bobbi Bennett.

“Mayor Giuliani's courage in the days following the terrorist attack on 9/11 inspired a nation, and I'm honored to have his support,” said Straten. “I am committed to strengthening our national defense and giving the military the tools they need to defeat radical Islamic fundamentalism.” He added, “The mayor’s fortitude in tackling the fiscal problems in New York is just the kind of principled leadership we need in Washington today. I hope to follow his model in Congress.”

Giuliani's decision to support the fiscally conservative candidate came after following the progress of his campaign over the last few months. “Straten is just the kind of guy we need to send to Washington, at a time when out-of-control spending has saddled future generations with enormous debt.” Giuliani added.

“Straten believes in cutting wasteful spending, and the power of tax cuts to spur economic growth, and he will vote to repeal the Democrat's job-killing health care entitlement. We need more people on Capitol Hill with strong backgrounds in business and economics, who understand that the private sector drives the economy, if we are to halt this march toward Socialist Democracy.”

Another reason to support this Reagan Republican, according to Giuliani, is the 40 years he spent building a successful business and creating jobs. Straten makes no apologies for his lack of political prowess saying, “I'm an engineer by trade, we analyze and solve problems. Most politicians look at the issues and try to twist them to their personal advantage, rather than breaking them down and developing viable solutions. I think we could use more problem solvers in government.”

Giuliani agrees, citing Straten's results oriented, common sense approach to the issues of the day as refreshingly pragmatic. “I believe that when you confront a problem you begin to solve it. Roland understands that we need dramatic change in Washington, and time spent jockeying for position on the issues doesn't serve the people. Straten is the kind of no-nonsense conservative that we can trust to put the country's interests ahead of his own.”

The NJEA is Disgusting and Despicable and the Reason Why Students are Doing So Poorly

Any good teacher that is part of the NJEA needs to condemn these videos and leave that union and demand something to be changed. James O'Keefe did a little investigative work into my favorite and home state of New Jersey and finds out just how disgusting the NJEA and some of its members are:

Roland Straten to Hold Town Hall in Wayne This Friday

STRATEN PLANS WAYNE TOWN HALL OPEN FORUM ON 10-29

WAYNE – Roland Straten, Republican candidate for Congress from the 8th Congressional District, will hold a Town Hall Open Forum on Friday, October 29, 2010, at 7:30 p.m. at the Wayne Municipal Building, 475 Valley Road.

The purpose of the Open Forum is to provide 8th District residents with the opportunity to express their views on any issues of concern to them and to question Straten about his positions on the issues.

“People are worried about government-run health care, bailouts, ineffective so-called stimulus spending, and all the other things that are dragging this country down: all the things that my opponent, Bill Pascrell, has voted for while carrying out Nancy Pelosi’s orders,” Straten said.  “ObamaCare and failed stimulus packages are why this economy is not recovering and why people are not finding jobs.”

Straten, a successful Paterson businessman for over 40 years, will reduce spending, taxes and regulations and will repeal and replace government-controlled health care if elected.

SEIU Operates Voting Machines in Clark County, Nevada

Nevada voting machines automatically checking Harry Reid's name; voting machine technicians are SEIU members

Clark County is where three quarters of Nevada's residents and live and where Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's son Rory is a county commissioner. Rory is also a Democratic candidate for governor.

Since early voting started, there have been credible reports that voting machines in Clark County, Nevada are automatically checking Harry Reid's name on the ballot:

Voter Joyce Ferrara said when they went to vote for Republican Sharron Angle, her Democratic opponent, Sen. Harry Reid's name was already checked.

Ferrara said she wasn't alone in her voting experience. She said her husband and several others voting at the same time all had the same thing happen.

"Something's not right," Ferrara said. "One person that's a fluke. Two, that's strange. But several within a five minute period of time -- that's wrong."

Clark County Registrar of Voters Larry Lomax said there is no voter fraud, although the issues do come up because the touch-screens are sensitive. For that reason, a person may not want to have their fingers linger too long on the screen after they make a selection at any time.

Now there's absolutely no independently verified evidence of chicanery with the voting machines (yet), but it is worth noting that the voting machine technicians in Clark County are members of the Service Employees International Union. The SEIU spent $63 million in elections in 2008 and is planning on spending $44 million more this election cycle -- nearly all of that on Democrats. White House political director Patrick Gaspard is formerly the SEIU's top lobbyist, and former SEIU president Andy Stern was the most frequent visitor to the White House last year.

Voting Problems Now in North Carolina

Voter reports problem with ballot machine

A Craven County voter says he had a near miss at the polls on Thursday when an electronic voting machine completed his straight-party ticket for the opposite of what he intended.

Sam Laughinghouse of New Bern said he pushed the button to vote Republican in all races, but the voting machine screen displayed a ballot with all Democrats checked. He cleared the screen and tried again with the same result, he said. Then he asked for and received help from election staff.

“They pushed it twice and the same thing happened,” Laughinghouse said. “That was four times in a row. The fifth time they pushed it and the Republicans came up and I voted.”

M. Ray Wood, Craven County Board of elections chairman, issued a written statement saying that the elections board is aware of isolated issues and that in each case the voter was able to cast his or her ballot as desired.

Chuck Tyson, chairman of Craven County GOP, remains skeptical. He has been communicating with Wood about the issue and was invited to a meeting Wednesday with state elections officials. There were no further details about that meeting.

“Something is not right here,” Tyson told the Sun Journal. He said he “got two or three calls” from people describing the same problem while they were voting.

“I’ll be matter of fact, I didn’t find that press release satisfactory,” Tyson said, referring to Wood’s written statement.

Washington Post Reveals the Truth about the Racist DOJ

Washington Post Blockbuster Confirms Worst Fears About Holder Justice Dept. Race Policies

Congratulations to the editors at the Washington Post.  Seventeen months after the Eric Holder Justice Department dismissed a slam-dunk case against the New Black Panther Party for voter intimidation, the Post gets around to printing a thorough vetting of the dismissal.  The story is slated for Saturday’s print edition.  While other media like Breitbart/The Bigs, Fox News, the Washington Times, the Weekly Standard, Pittsburgh Tribune Review, Investors Business Daily, Pajamas Media, and Drudge have had dozens of stories on the corrupt New Black Panther dismissal, the Washington Post at last is in the game.

The story is a shocker too.  The shock comes from the middle of the road and factual nature of the story.

There are small problems with the story.  For one, the Washington Post is the only outlet that calls King Samir Shabazz by his old “slave name” (Shabazz’s own words) of Maruse Heath.  Even Heath doesn’t call himself Heath.  Of course this takes some of the sting off Shabazz’s rants against Jews and calls to kill “cracker babies in their crib.”

The Post’s decision to change a man’s name for him is controversial.  It has no place.

But overall, the story is very bad news for Eric Holder.  It debunks many of the myths spun by the administration.  Inside DOJ sources describe deep hostility to protecting whites at Justice.  DOJ sources say panther prosecutor Christian Adams never allowed his conservative views to influence his work, contradicting administration spin.  And perhaps most damning of all to Holder, sources defending the administration defend the idea that whites aren’t protected by the Civil Rights laws.  The latter is the blockbuster news in the Post piece.

The Post also shatters the false administration spin that only low level career lawyers had a fight among themselves: “After the Obama administration took over, high-level political appointees relayed their thoughts on the case in a stream of internal e-mails in the days leading to the dismissal.”  The administration told Congress and the public a lie for over a year, and now the Washington Post even knows.

More Voters to be Disenfranchised

Possible glitch with vote-by-mail system

This year marks the first Illinois election that any registered voter can cast their ballot by mail, no excuses necessary. Even as the deadline for those ballots to be postmarked nears, problems are brewing.

An Illinois county election official is telling the ABC 7 I-Team that thousands -- potentially hundreds of thousands -- of voters who are expecting a ballot sent to them by mail may be disenfranchised.

Chicagoan Rosia Carter is one of 404,000 registered Illinois voters who recently received vote-by-mail requests that were sent by the Illinois Democratic Coordinated Campaign.

"By the time I filled it out and sent it in, my vote would not get counted," Carter said.

She and others called the I-Team when they noticed the return address is not their local election official but instead a PO box for the organization. IDCC officials claim they are entering ballot request information into their own database before sending the mailings on to election authorities who then mail voters the ballot.

The Lake County clerk received a shipment of 500 ballot requests from the IDCC Tuesday. By law, her office has two days to process the ballot requests. The problem is, Thursday is the deadline for election officials to get the ballots out.
